Archana Puran Singh of The Kapil Sharma Show has extended extraordinary support to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in banning firecrackers this Diwali. Archana, who’s become an integral part of the popular Sony TV comedy show, urged her fans to ‘enjoy virtual firecrackers this Diwali.’
Reacting to a journalist’s post on Gehlot’s decision, Archana gave her approval as she wrote, “Let’s all enjoy virtual firecrackers.”
Gehlot had earlier taken to Twitter to announce how his government had taken the decision to ban the sale and bursting of firecrackers ‘in order to protect the health of COVID19 infected patients & public from poisonous smoke emanating due to fireworks.’ “In this challenging corona pandemic time, protecting the lives of people is paramount for government,” Gehlot had said.
The Rajasthan chief minister had also said that instructions were ‘given to ban the temporary license for the sale of firecrackers and that fireworks should also be stopped during wedding & other functions.’
Following his footsteps, the West Bengal government headed by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee too announced on Tuesday that it had imposed a ban on the bursting of firecrackers during the upcoming festivals including Diwali.
Quoting Bengal Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay, news agency PTI reported that the Bengal government had decided to not allow bursting of firecrackers during Kali puja, Diwali festivals to check air pollution and hazardous for COVID-19 patients.
The Kapil Sharma Show is broadcast every weekend on Sony TV. In their last episode, Kapil and crew had welcomed Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani, who arrived to promote their upcoming film Laxmi Bomb.
Earlier on Saturday, Kapil and Archana were joined by former CSK player Suresh Raina, who had to miss out on playing this year’s IPL after a controversy surrounding his stay in the UAE.
