Nita Ambani arrived in the UAE with son Akash Ambani to watch her team Mumbai Indians take on Delhi Capitals in the crucial playoff match. Once again, her presence brought the much-needed lucky charm for Rohit Sharma-led side as they thrashed Delhi Capitals by 57 runs to qualify for the final for the sixth time. As expected, Nita’s daughter-in-law Shloka Mehta and daughter Isha Ambani stayed away from the match.
The match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals became special as Jasprit Bumrah bowled a devastating spell to scalp four wickets by conceding just 14 runs in four overs. This was the best-ever spell bowled by Bumrah in the IPL. Nita and son Akash were seen cheering their team as they celebrated every stage of the match.
Mumbai Indians have won the competition on four occasions, most by any team. This is the sixth time that they’ve reached the IPL final. Nita has often been hailed as the lucky charm for her team as she was often seen chanting secret mantras during the match in the past. On Thursday, she did not need to chant any mantras since her team’s victory against Delhi Capitals was utterly convincing.
