Hindi film actor Twinkle Khanna, known for her wit and being sharp on social media platform, Twitter, faced intense trolling by the supporters of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Saturday.
One of the most politically aware actors, Twinkle’s tweets often brings a smile on your face.
In response to Sr Sri’s controversial statement on Nobel and how Malala was an undeserving recipient of the Peace Prize, Twinkle’s tongue-in-cheek tweet read, ” Sri Sri got his nobel foot and half his beard stuck in his mouth in a yogic pose that Baba Ramdev perfected a while ago #HolyMenAndHairyTales (sic)”
As expected, the supporters of controversial baba began to troll her with one of Sri Sri’s disciples even intimidating her with a threat to boycott Twinkle’s husband, Akshay Kumar’s next release, Housefull 3.

But this was too late and many on microblogging site had begun tweeting in her support using the screenshot of her old tweet on Art of Living founder’s controversial statements.
Congress supporter, Suryanarayan Ganesh tweeted, “Shame that cheap online goons of a fake baba Sri Sri threatened you into submission. A pious mob they are.”

We’ve surely not heard the last word on what has a potential to snowball into yet another twitter controversy involving Sri Sri.
The Art of Living founder is a staunch supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and even endorsed the BJP during the Lok Sabha elections in 2014.
He was in the news recently after his foundation was slammed by National Green Tribunal for destroying the environment on the Yamuna bed while organising the World Culture Festival in February.
The NGT had imposed a fine of Rs 5 crore on him, but he’s refused to pay the amount. Such is his power that the NGT has not been able to initiate any action against him.
