Mahabharat fame actor Mukesh Khanna, now a favourite TV guest of Arnab Goswami, is facing widespread condemnation for his alleged misogynistic remarks holding working women responsible for the rise in sexual harassment cases. This was after a video of Khanna disapproving the idea of women leaving their house to work with men went viral.
In the viral video, shared by Twitter user Hindutva Watch, Khanna was seen saying, “Problem kahan se shuru hui MeToo ke bhi? Jab auraton ne bhi kaam karna shuru kar diya. Aaj aurat mard ke saath kandhe se kandha milakar chalne ki baat karti hai….Nahi Mard mard hai aurat aurat hai (The problem of MeToo began when women started working. Today, women talk about walking shoulder-to-shoulder with men…No! men are men and women are women).”
The controversial actor did not stop here. He went on to add, “Mard ki rachna alag hoti hai, aurat ki rachna alag hoti hai. Aurat ka kaam hai ghar sambhalna. (Men and women are different. Women are meant to take care of household chores).

#Shakthimaan is not a super hero anymore he is super villain, I condemn him for making absurd statements on women while talking about #MeToo
I don’t like or support #metoo but truly condemning is his words on working women, my mom was also one who raised family single-handedly

What the hell he is talking about. In today’s society, almost every male asks for a girl’s salary and income before getting married to her. Blame your thinking and mentality, not females. #MukeshKhanna #MeToo #IAmRepublic #SardarVallabhbhaiPatel #CBIUpdateOnSSRCase pic.twitter.com/pYj5Rw2MMK

This man is SICK. In short, if women will step out for work, men are entitled to sexually assault them? If women want safety, they should stay at home.

Khanna was recently in the news when he called The Kapil Sharma Show ‘vulgar’ prompting Kapil Sharma to say, “My team and I are working hard to make people smile during this crucial stage of the pandemic. When the whole world is going through a tough time, it is important to bring a smile on people’s faces. It depends on each individual ki aapko kis baat main khushi dhoondhni hai, aur kis baat main kami. I have chosen happiness and prefer to focus on my work and continue to keep doing that in the future.”
Khanna has lately become a regular on Arnab Goswami’s Republic TV, where he’s seen agreeing with the TV anchor.
