It’s a dream for any actor to be cast in Salman Khan’s film but for this actress, who now regrets doing Dabangg alongside him.
Mahie Gill, who earned plenty of plaudits for her acting prowess in Anurag Kashyap’s Dev D, has sensationally said that her decision to agree for a supporting role in Dabangg was a wrong move.
Mahie had acted in Gulaal after Dev D, before she signed Dabangg, directed by Anurag’s brother Abhinav and starring Salman Khan.
The actor told PTI, “After Dev D, I had won a lot of appreciation and awards. People wanted to sign me for films. But I did Dabangg and it backfired big time. The producers started to offer me small roles. I felt very bad but I did not know what was happening. I believe in destiny a lot, I think this was meant to happen. I did regret doing the role but now I do not.”
She played Arbaaz Khan’s love interest in the film but said that being a part of a commercial film backfired and stopped her acting career. She said that she was immensely grateful to Tigmanshu Dhulia for offering her Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster series, thereby giving her career a new lease of life.
Mahie said that she wasn’t very keen to star in Dabangg series but Arbaaz persuaded her to agree for the role saying her character was essential in the film. She, however, made it clear that she had not been approached for the third sequel of Dabangg series.
Mahie will be seen in the third part of Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, whose teaser is setting the internet on fire (watch below.) Sanjay Dutt too will be seen in the third part of Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster.
