Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan will soon be seen in Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath. Both actors recently wrapped up the shooting for the film, which has been mired in a series of controversies since its shooting began.
More recently Abhishek Kapoor had filed a lawsuit seeking damages worth Rs 5 crore after Sara Ali Khan signed Simmba directed by Rohit Shetty under Karan Johar’s banner Dharma Productions. It had taken Saif Ali Khan’s personal intervention to avert a major legal battle between Kapoor and the young star daughter.
Sushant says he’s been impressed by Sara’s acting prowess and her enthusiasm on the set. He told a newspaper that the ‘zest’ in Sara reminded him of his ‘early days.’ He said, “When I started my Bollywood journey five years back, I was excited about learning new things and showcasing my talent. I saw the same enthusiasm in Sara. Her zest reminded me of my early days. She knows her craft well and is confident about her way ahead. I am sure she will do well.”
Not so long ago, the Raabta actor had reportedly urged Kapoor to give Sara an equal screen presence in Kedarnath.
“Sushant recently watched the rushes of Kedarnath and felt that both the lead actors should get equal prominence. He feels responsible for Sara since he is her first co-actor. He even had a chat with Abhishek, insisting that Sara get as much screen time as him. Sushant wants the movie to establish her as a solid performer,” a source close to Sushant was quoted by Mid-Day.
Sushant was keen to ensure that the bitterness between Kapoor and Sara because of the infamous lawsuit did not adversely impact the latter’s screen presence in the film.
“After the legal matter regarding Sara’s reassigning of dates was settled out of court, Sushant wanted to ensure that the bitterness doesn’t spill into the professional space. As the film’s leading man, he thought it necessary to have a conversation with Abhishek regarding giving extra mileage to Sara in the movie,” the source had said.
In Simmba, Sara is acting opposite Ranveer Singh with the movie being directed by Rohit Shetty.
