Sunny’s response came two days after the CPI leader made a controversial remark at her saying that Sunny Leone’s condom advertisements promote rapes in the country.
Anjan had apologized later but still maintained that Sunny Leone’s condom advertisement was vulgar and he would continue to oppose them.
On the other hand, actress Shilpa Shetty took Sunny Leone’s side and called the entire controversy related to her condom ad as “silly”.
Shilpa said, “It’s just some of the fringe who thinks like that. I don’t think everybody thinks like that. It’s very silly. These things happen everywhere. There are controversies everywhere and this is a really silly thing that you’re giving too much attention to.”
Shilpa Shetty, wife of businessman Raj Kundra has also been dragged into many controversies including the one on the reality show Big Brother and another in Richard Gere kissing incident.
The Dhadkan actress supported Sunny Leone and said, “I just think that all five fingers can’t be like each other. You got to have all kinds that make the world. Just concentrate on the positives. I think India is a great country. I love it and feel very proud to be Indian, to represent my country anywhere in the world.”
She also added, “Celebrities are always sitting ducks. So we just accept it. I’ve learnt to live by the philosophy that when you’re a celebrity, you shouldn’t complain and you shouldn’t explain. That’s it.”
Anjan had claimed that Sunny Leone’s condom advertisement was “developing sexuality and ruining sensibilities”. He also added that her ads will trigger men to commit rapes. Anjan made this statement at a public rally in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday about the pornstar turned actress.
