Taking to Instagram, Sonali posted a cute smiling photo of herself with a quote from her ‘favourite author’ Isbael Allende, who wrote, “We don’t even know how strong we are until we are forced to bring that hidden strength forward. In times of tragedy, of war, of necessity, people do amazing things. The human capacity for survival and renewal is awesome.”

The popular actor then went on to thank her fans, who have been sending their wishes and ‘love’ to her after she made the shock announcement on her health condition.

Stating that she was not alone in her fight, Sonali wrote, “The outpouring of love I’ve received in the last few days has been so overwhelming… and I’m especially grateful to those of you who shared stories of your experiences in dealing with cancer, whether it was your own or of loved ones. Your stories have given me an extra dosage of strength and courage, and more importantly, the knowledge that I’m not alone.”

The actor, who’s also been judging popular reality TV shows in India recently, acknowledged the need to stay positive during her fight. “Each day comes with its own challenges and victories and so for now, I’m taking this #OneDayAtATime. The only thing I’m trying to be consistent about is maintaining a positive outlook… Literally #SwitchOnTheSunshine – it’s my way of dealing with this. Sharing my journey is also part of this process… I can only hope it reminds you that all is not lost and that someone, somewhere understands what you’re going through”

Her post also had a video of her hair cut, during which she is seen sobbing perhaps on the prospects of losing her hair. Sonali was one of the few actresses, known for her beautiful long hair. In couple of slides, her husband Goldie Behl is seen consoling her while kissing her head.

Last week on Wednesday, Sonali had stunned her fans with the revelation revelation that she had been diagnosed with high grade cancer that had metastised. Taking to her social media page, Sonali admitted that she did not ‘see it coming.’

Earlier another Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan was diagnosed with high-grade neuroendocrine cancer.  In a gut-wrenching note sent from London, Irrfan had conceded that his ailment was rare and that its treatment was unpredictable.

Sonali is married to Goldie Behl and has a 12-year-old son Ranveer, who was born in August 2005. She has acted in scores of films including Duplicate, Major Saab and Sarfarosh. In 2012, she quit as India’s Got Talent judge to focus on her comeback film, One Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara.

In the words of my favourite author Isabel Allende, “We don’t even know how strong we are until we are forced to bring that hidden strength forward.
