Union Minister Smriti Irani was one of the late entrants to Instgaram among the list of celebrities. One expected her to grasp the nuances of the photo and video sharing platform sooner than her contemporaries given her successful stint as an accomplished actress.
However, that has not deterred her from quickly understanding the platform as was evident in her latest post involving actor Janhvi Kapoor. Janhvi and Smriti bumped into each other at recent function, where the Dhadak actress reportedly kept addressing her as ‘aunty.’ Irani, who’s now hold the Textiles Ministry in the Centre’s Narendra Modi government, reportedly did not like being addressed as aunty, prompting Janhvi to apologise.
While sharing a boomerang video of herself and Janhvi, Smriti Irani wrote, ““The someone shoot me”moment —When #jahnvikapoor sweetly apologises for continuously calling you aunty & you say “ koi baat nahi beta “ #totalsiyapa ?♀️ye Aaj kal ke bachche #auntykiskobola.” Her post was indicative of just how well she understood Instagram. This earned her plenty of plaudits from her fans, who reacted overwhelmingly.
Although, Irani faced her own share of trolling from her haters, they were far fewer in numbers compared to those who appeared to simply love her post.
Janhvi was last seen in her debut film Dhadak opposite Ishaan Khattar, Shahid Kapoor’s brother. The film, which was produced by Dharma Productions, went on to earn more than Rs 100 crore at the box office.
