UP court accepts Hindu Mahasabha’s plea against Shah Rukh and Salman for ‘wearing shoes in temple video’

A court in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut has accepted a plea by Hindu Mahasabha against Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan for wearing shoes in temple in a promotional video for Bigg Boss.

Bharat Rajput of Hindu Sabha told ANI, “In India whenever one enters a place of worship they have to take off their shoes. Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan aren’t above that. We wrote to Colors Channel to edit the part where they show it but they didn’t. We will take this issue forward in public and parliament.”

Salman and Sah Rukh had shot several videos of their re-union after years of acrimonious relationship ahead of the latter’s big release Dilwale. These videos were heavily promoted on Colors TV.

In one video, both actors were seen recreating the scene from their blockbuster Karan Arjun, where they had acted together.

These videos were shot to publicise the patch-up between the two actors ahead of Shah Rukh’s famous appearance on the reality show Bigg Boss, hosted by Salman Khan.

Shah Rukh hasn’t been very popular among the right-wing Hindu group. The actor had recently drawn plenty of flak for his comments on religious intolerance a comment that was seen a criticism of Narendra Modi government at the centre.
