The first track of Kedarnath starring Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput is out and it’s bound to turn into a chart-buster. Sweatheart track is one of those songs, likely to grow on you and become an essential number in your music list.
Although not much is known about the context of this song, the backdrop appears to be suggestive of a wedding celebration. Sushnat is impressive with his flawless dancing skills before he’s joined by Sara, who adequately compliments him.
Fans have reacted with overwhelming praise for the track and the performance of Sushant and Sara. One fan wrote, “Sushant Singh Rajput is an incredible performer and he has proved it yet again in this song. Sara is looking very sweet.” Another wrote, “Sara is better than Janhvi (Kapoor).”
Aside from Sweetheart being melodious and peppy, director Abhishek Kapoor appears to have paid a lot of attention to its lyrics primarily to suit the character played by Sushat in the film. Sweetheart track has been written with plenty of Urdu words only to suggest that it was a conscious effort by the director to suit the Muslim character of Sushant. For example, he’s seen using the term nazneen for Sara and calls himself as Muflis (poor). The song also has references to dulhan, shahi tukda, naacheezon ki basti mein, khush qismati and shahi joda.
While Sara is seen wearing a yellow gharara with a matching dupatta, Sushnat is attired in a pathani suit with an achkan. Although, Sara is playing the character of Hindu girl, her choice of a gharara, usually worn by Muslim girls, shows that she is a guest at the wedding function being organised by Sushant or his acquaintances.
This is the first time Sara is seen dancing on screen. And going by her performance, she is set to have plenty more admirers of her dance skills. A comparison is bound to be drawn with another star daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, who had set screens on fire with her dance performance in Dhadak.
