Salman Khan walked out of Inshallah because he didn’t want to kiss Alia Bhatt in film: Report

Remember the announcement of Inshallah by Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt as the former’s Eid release next year. The film was announced to be released next Eid soon after Salman’s Bharat, released during this year’s Eid and went on to smash box office records. Weeks later, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor’s fans were left heartbroken after it emerged that he had walked out of the film. No one, however, knew the actual reason behind Salman’s cancelling the idea of doing Inshallah directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Now several media reports have suggested that one of the reasons why Salman walked out of the film was because the script had several intimate scenes involving him and Alia. Since Salman has always been known for not doing any intimate scenes in his films, he refused to kiss Alia in the film. One entertainment news portal said that Salman asked Bhansali to consider dropping the lip lock scenes from the script but he refused to oblige.

Bhansali had originally decided to shelve the film after Salman Khan reportedly walked out, but he’s reported to have changed his mind because of some investment already made in the pre-production of Inshallah.

Times of India quoted a source as saying, “A massive budget has been invested in the pre-production process of Inshallah. Hence, Bhansali is planning to continue with his magnum opus without Salman Khan. The filmmaker has decided to make a few changes to the script and make the project as planned. Alia will still be a part of the film but another actor will be roped in to replace Salman.”

Bhansali had reportedly first considered replacing Salman with Shah Rukh Khan, with whom he’s already worked in Devdas. But, according to some reports, Hrithik Roshan is now being considered for the role.

It will be interesting to hear from Salman the exact reason behind his refusal to work with a director, with whom, he once gave us the iconic Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.
