Amidst several Bollywood artists coming forward to generously help the victims of flood victims of Kerala, it has now emerged that Salman Khan too has reportedly donated Rs 12 crore towards the humanitarian cause.
The news of Salman reportedly donating a whopping sum of Rs 12 crore spread with a lightening speed after actor Jaaved Jaaferi took to Twitter to make the announcement. Jaaferi wrote, “Heard @BeingSalmanKhan donated ₹12cr for Kerala.. this man is something else. Kitnon ki duaein leke chal rahi hain isey. God Bless you bro. Love and #Respect.”

Not too long ago, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had thanked several actors for their help towards Kerala flood victims. They included, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Siddharth Roy Kapoor, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput, Akshay Kumar and Resul Pookutty.
Salman has not commented on his reported donation, but the actor has never flaunted his generosity in the past. His charity, Being Human, has often been hailed for helping individuals in distress. However, there were many users who asked why Vijayan had not mentioned Salman in his list of stars who he thanked.
But, that could be because his offer of help may have come after the chief minister’s office posted the tweet.
Earlier this month, Pooja Dadwal, who acted opposite Salman in 1995 film Veergati, had said that she was alive because of the help provided by Salman when she was diagnosed with TB. She was quoted as saying, “I am really thankful to Salman Khan who lent me the support. From clothes to soaps, diapers, food, medicines, his foundation took care of everything. If I survived the ordeal, it is only because of him.”
This came a month after it was widely reported how Salman had secretly paid for the treatment of Kavi Kumar Azad from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma before his tragic death.
