Remember Svar Kamble, who shot to fame by playing Saif Ali Khan’s son in Chef? Well the actor has now bagged his another film Chhote Nawab, which incidentally is a popular nickname of Saif too.
Impressed by his acting opposite Saif Ali Khan in the 2017 film, the makers have Chhote Nawab have decided to cast him in a key role for his next film, which will also have Akshay Oberoi and Plabita Borthakur.
Svar will be seen in a role of Muslim boy Junaid, who returns from London to meet his extended family in Lucknow, the state capital of Uttar Pradesh. Upon his return the teenage Muslim boy goes through a series of emotional upheaval in life.
While in Lucknow he falls for his rebellious cousin sister and how he encounters a series of classism and patriarchy along the way. The film has been directed by Kumud Chaudhary.
“Junaid in ‘Chhote Nawab’ is an easily relatable role for me. Its a coming of age role of a teenager who is dealing with a gamut of emotions and changes, even as he tries to make sense of a distinct cultural background that what he is used to. It’s been fantastic working with the team,” Svar said while talking about his role.
