Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia on Monday said that the murder threat against him by a BJP MLA’s son in Madhya Pradesh had exposed the saffron party.
Speaking to ANI, the lawmaker from Guna said, “The real face of BJP comes forward with this. The aim of BJP govt, its leadership and CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan is only to demolish Congress. I would like to tell them that we will never bow down to such threats.”
This was after BJP MLA Uma Devi Khatik’s son Princedeep Lalchand Khatik, in a social media post on Monday, had threatened to shoot Scindia, who’s widely being tipped to be the next chief minister of Madhya Pradesh in the event of his party’s win in assembly polls.
Lalchand had written in his Facebook post: “Jyotiraditya Scindia, you have Jiwajirao’s blood running in your veins, who killed Jhansi ki Rani. If you step in Hatta then I will shoot you. Either you will die or I will.”
Incidentally, Scindia isscheduled visit to Hatta district to hold a rally on on Wednesday. Lalchand’s mother is an MLA from Hatta constituency. She had earlier told IANS, “This post is unfortunate. Scindia is a respectable MP. I will ask my son to remove the post.”
But this did not stop social media users from condemning the murder threats by the BJP MLA’s son. One user asked, “How this boy got pistol? Police have to take action.” “Ohh he is from BJP, so there is nothing to be shocked,” commented another user. Another user wrote, “Power !!! Power makes man mad. This is the example. Or this is cheapest stunt for publicity.”
