Indian cricket team coach Ravi Shastri has reacted angrily on the reports claiming that the former India captain was dating Bollywood actress Nimrat Kaur for over two years.
Hours after Nimrat took to Twitter to break her silence on the rumours, Shastri too reacted on his reported affair calling it ‘biggest load of cow dung.’ He told Mumbai-based tabloid Mid-Day, “Nothing to say when it is the biggest load of cow dung.” The Indian team coach also repeated ‘Cow dung says it all,’ when the reporter repeated the question.
On being asked about the last time he Nimrat, Shastri shot back, “When I say cow dung, you must understand.”
Nimrat, for her part, had on Monday said on the matter, “Fact: I may need a root canal. Fiction: Everything else I read about me today. More facts: Fiction can be more hurtful, monday blues exist and I love ice cream. Here’s to trash free happy days ahead.”
Nimrat’s clarification had also prompted social media users to target her with memes and quirky messages highlighting the glaring mismatch in the fitness level and the age gap of the two celebrities.
It all started after Mumbai Mirror claimed that both Shastri and Nimrat were dating each other for nearly two years. Its report said, “We hear the two have been dating rather discreetly for over two years. (Shastri is known to have been long estranged from his wife Ritu)… Shastri is currently in the UK where the Indian team is playing a Test match against England. Nimrat has been filming a popular web-series. Here’s wishing this two a long innings.”
In the past several Indian cricketers have gone on to marry film actresses. More recently, Chak De.. fame Sagarika Ghatge married former India pacer Zaheer Khan, while actresses Geeta Basra and Hazel Keech married Harbhajan and Yuvraj Singh respectively.
