Taking to Twitter, Priyanka wrote, “Morning puja on the day of my wedding (22 years ago!) #SareeTwitter.”

This was after political rivals and entertainment celebrities on Monday came together to shed their differences to trend a new hashtag #SareeTwitter. People who took to the microblogging site were Shiv Sena’s Priyanka Chaturvedi, Congress Party’s Nagma and BJP’s Nupur Sharma. They all shared their favourite photos while posing in a saree to make a statement about the famous Indian ethnic attire.

Priyanka Chaturvedi, who recently joined the Shiv Sena after quitting the Congress, is one politician, who has pulled off this ethnic attire brilliantly. She wrote, “Because #SareeTwitter & I cannot miss tweeting with this hashtag :)”

Not to be left behind was BJP’s Nupur Sharma, who’s often seen flying the flag for her party in TV debates. Sharma wrote while sharing her own photo in saree, “Here comes a trend I can completely relate to! #SareeTwitter.”

Actress-turned-politician Nagma tweeted her own photo sporting a saree as she wrote, “Saree dipicts our Indian tradition and culture. It is also supposed to be known as our sexiest costume. One looks dignified , elegant, beautiful , graceful and yet can seem very appealing in it #SareeTwitter.”

There were also others, who joined the celebration of the saree on Twitter.

For a change, Twitter wasn’t being used to spread venom and hatred by the social media armies of different political parties.
