Prayer meet at Mumbai’s ISKCON temple for late Aadesh Shrivastava

A prayer meet for late music composer and singer Aadesh Shrivastava was held at the ISKCON temple in Mumbai on September 8.

Amitabh Bachchan, who regularly called and inquired about Shrivastava’s health, had a close association with the composer. Bachchan tweeted:

Shrivastava, who battled cancer five years ago, was diagnosed with the same disease again. He was said to be in a critical condition when he was being admitted to the hospital. He died in the wee hours of September 5 at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Mumbai. His last rites were held at the Oshiwara Crematorium on the same day.

The funeral was attended by many B-town celebrities including Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik, Pandit Jasraj, Udit Narayan, Javed Ali, Kunal Ganjawala, Ismail Darbar, Shekhar Kapur and the Welcome Back director Anees Bazmee.

Shrivastava is survived by wife, Vijeta Pandit and children, Avitesh and Anivesh Shrivastava.
