Popular TV actress Naga Jhansi has allegedly committed suicide at her house in Hyderabad. Jhansi, who shot to fame through TV serial Pavitra Bandhan on MAA TV had also acted in several films. Her body was found hanging from a ceiling fan on Tuesday morning.
This was after her brother Durga Prasad had to break open her house since there was no response to the door bell. He reportedly alerted the police before breaking open the door. Her body was hanging from a ceiling fan.
According to media reports, Jhansi was reportedly in a relationship with a distant relative for several months, but her parents were not in favour the relationship. The police team investigating the suicide case has seized Jhansi’s phone. She had reportedly used the phone to speak to a man before ending her life.
Cops are also examining the call records of her mobile phone.
Jhansi’s parents, according to a report by Hindustan Times, were expecting her to return for a house warming ceremony on 22 February. Her brother Durgaprasad, who was staying with her in Hyderabad, told the police that the family members that had no idea about the love affair, but admitted that she had been in a state of depression for some time. He said, “She had not been attending her shoots for the last few days.”
Last year, the daughter of a famous Telugu actress Annapurna had committed suicide. 35-year-old Keerthi’s body was found hanging from the ceiling.
In April 2018, an anchor with a Telugu news channel had committed suicide in Hyderabad. Radhika Reddy, 36, jumped off the fifth floor of her apartment building in the Moosapet area. She was apparently depressed after her divorce.
In 2015, Telugu actress Aarthi Agarwal had died after her due to a failed liposuction surgery failure in New Jersey in the US.
