Neetu Kapoor has penned an emotional note for her late husband Rishi Kapoor on the completion of 50 years since Mera Naam Joker was released. Her note elicited instant reactions from filmmaker Karan Johar, daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Soni Razdan’s mother of Ranbir Kapoor’s rumoured girlfriend Alia Bhatt.
Neetu shared different shades of her late husband’s photos capturing his journey in the Hindi film industry as she fondly remembered how Mera Naam Joker was released exactly 50 years ago. She wrote, “Mera naam joker released on 18th dec. 1970 .. today would have been his 50 years in the indian film industry #rishikapoor??”
Reacting to her post, Karan Johar wrote, “My absolute favourite actor of all times ❤️❤️❤️.” Soni Razdan, whose daughter Alia Bhatt is reportedly dating Neetu Kapoor’s Ranbir Kapoor, commented, “Wow what super pics. Such a fine actor. We all miss him ❤️❤️❤️” Neetu’s daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni posted a red heart to her mother’s post.

Rishi Kapoor died at a Mumbai hospital on 30 April after battling cancer for two years. He was being treated for leukaemia as revealed his brother Randhir Kapoor. Anil Ambani was one of the celebrities to attend the veteran actor’s funeral on Thursday afternoon. His death had taken placed right in the middle of the nationwide lockdown. Riddhima, who was in Delhi, had to seek special permission from the Ministry of Home Affairs to fly to Mumbai.
Days after Rishi Kapoor’s tragic death, Neetu had taken to social media to write a profound note to thank India’s richest family for their help during her husband’s cancer treatment. She thanked every member of the Ambani family namely Mukesh Ambani, his wife Nita Ambani, sons Akash and Anant Ambani, daughter Isha and daughter-in-law Shloka Mehta by calling ‘guardian angels.’ Mukesh and Nita Ambani had travelled to New York to meet Rishi Kapoor when he was staying in the US for his cancer treatment.
