Naseeruddin Shah apologises for his comments on Rajesh Khanna


Actor Naseeruddin Shah has reportedly apologised for his ‘mediocrity’ comments meant for Rajesh Khanna.

“I apologise to those who were personally offended, my intention was not to attack him (Rajesh Khanna),” DNA reported quoting India Today tweet.

Social media users had slammed the veteran actor after he reportedly said that Rajesh Khanna was responsible for bringing “mediocrity” in the Hindi film industry in the ’70s.

Rajesh Khanna’s daughter, Twinkle Khanna, and Karan Johar had hit out at Shah calling his comments in poor taste.

Twinkle, 42, the elder daughter of Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, tweeted, “Sir if you can’t respect the living, respect the dead – mediocrity is attacking a man who can’t respond @NaseerudinShah.”

Karan Johar too agreed with Twinkle when he tweeted, “I agree with you @mrsfunnybones…due respect to seniority but this was in exceptionally bad taste and not becoming of a fraternity member..”
