Music composer Aadesh Shrivastava dies in Mumbai, He was 51


Music composer, Aadesh Shrivastava dies of Cancer at Kokilaben hospital in Mumbai on Saturday.

The well-known singer and composer had turned 51 on 4 September and died the next day, leaving behind wife, Vijeta Pandit and children, Avitesh and Anivesh Shrivastava.

In his last days, many singers from the industry came to visited him at the hospital. The visitors’ list also included actor Shah Rukh Khan, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Tina Ambani along with singers Alka Yagnik, Shaan, Udit Narayan and Sonu Nigam.

While Amitabh Bachchan regularly called him up and inquired about his health.

The composer’s last tweet which was updated ’14 hours ago’ mentions the visit paid by Bollywood stars.

Aadesh Shrivastava, who was diagonsed with Cancer, was hospitalised in a critical condition after the relapse of his cancer.

On Twitter, he expressed that he wanted prayers and not monetary help.

He had tweeted about his ill-health saying, “I can’t describe what I am going through. I don’t know how I am coping.”

Few days back, Aadesh’s brother-in-law and composer Lalit Pandit had told PTI, “He has been undergoing chemotherapy but he is not responding to it. So, the doctors have stopped giving him chemotherapy. They have an alternative theory. The doctors are trying to do their best and Aadesh is fighting it bravely.”

Aadesh had composed music for over hundred Hindi films including for Shahrukh’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Chalte Chalte along with Baghban, Baabul, Rajneeti, Dev among others.

He was also the vice-president of the Music Composers Association of India.
