Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Monday made a host of announcements during the 42nd AGM of his company in Mumbai. The biggest announcement was the rolling out of Jio GigaFiber, which Ambani said will be commercially available from 5 September. However, the star attraction of the event was Shloka Mehta, the daughter-in-law of Mukesh and Nita Ambani. This was the first Reliance AGM that Shloka was attending after getting married to Akash Ambani in March.
Shloka arrived at the AGM venue with Akash by firmly holding his hand. She was seen taking a seat in the front row with her to-be sister-in-law Radhika Merchant, who’s believed to be in a relationship with Anant Amabni, another son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani.
Shloka was seen cheering her husband as he arrived on stage to announce his company’s plans to revolutionise a user’s shopping experience using digital platforms. Joining him was his sister Isha Ambani, with whom Shloka enjoys a great camaraderie. The Ambani bahu was seen constantly clapping for her husband as he made a series of new announcements about his company’s future plans.
On Jio GigaFiber front, Mukesh Ambani told his shareholders that the tariff plans would be priced in the range of Rs 700 and Rs 10,000 per month. He said, “We are pricing our plans at less than 1/10th the global rates, to make it accessible for all. JioFiber plans will be priced between Rs 700 to Rs 10,000 per month to suit every budget and every need.”
Shloka was recently hailed as a lucky charm of her in-laws when Reliance Industries last month reported how its consolidated revenue had gone up by 22.1 percent to Rs 172,956 crore or $ 25.1 billion. The company’s overall profit had also registered a growth of Rs 9,036 crore, which is an increase of 2.4 % compared to the same quarter last year. This was the first result of a full quarter since Shloka Mehta became the daughter-in-law of Mukesh and Nita Ambani.
