Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Rajput is known for her plainspeak and not disdain to political correctness. On Monday, the Bollywood’s new Mom updated her Instagram story with a quote from Samuel L Jackson, targeting rappers and their ‘shitty music.’
The message, attributed to Jackson, read, “Maybe if we underpaid these modern mumble rappers and overpaid teachers, there would be smarter people in the future and less shitty music.”
It’s not clear what prompted Mira to borrow Samuel L Jackson’s quotes to attack modern day’s rappers. But this is not the first time she has spoken her mind on contentious issues. Soon after getting married to Shahid Kapoor, she had courted a huge controversy by saying that she did not want her children to be raised by nannies since they were not puppies.
Last year, right in the middle of the raging MeToo campaign, she had thrown her support in favour of Tanushree Dutta. Mira had written, “If men are concerned about being falsely accused of sexual assault maybe they should stay home and not put themselves in dangerous situations where they could be vulnerable.
“These things wouldn’t happen if they didn’t drink, go out to bars, or walk alone at night where women might mistakenly think they’re predators. They might also want to dress more conservatively so that they don’t appear threatening to women.”
On Monday, Mira was spotted seeing off her actor husband Shahid Kapoor at the Mumbai Airport before taking her mother out for dinner in the evening.
Mira and Shahid were blessed with a baby boy in September last year. The couple had named their second child Zain Kapoor. Their daughter Misha Kapoor had turned two days before they welcomed their second child in the family.
On professional front, Shahid’s last film was Batti Gul Meter Chalu. He will be next seen in the Hindi remake of Telugu hit film Arjun Reddy which will also star Kiara Advani. The film is set to be released in June this year.
