Mira Rajput and Gauri Khan became the two leading Bollywood personalities to publicly support Ananya Panday’s unique initiative against bullying. This was after the Student Of The Year 2 launched her new Digital Social Responsibility campaign coinciding with the World Social Media Day on Sunday.
Billed as So Positive, the campaign aims to build a community to create maximum awareness on social media bullying. Ananya took to Instagram to share a video where she was seen urging people to stop creating hatred on social media platforms. The caption of the video read, “So Positive (SO+). A part of growing up is taking responsibility & as a woke Millennial I, Ananya Panday introduce y’all to my Digital Social Responsibility initiative ‘So+'”
In the video, Ananya was seen discussing her personal struggles with social media bullying.
Reacting to her initiative, Shahid Kapoor’s wife, Mira Rajput, wrote on Instagram, “100% with you on this Ananya Panday. Say no to cyberbullying. Stop spreading hate without a face.”
Gauri Khan, wife of Shah Rukh Khan, too wrote in Ananya’s support, “Good iniative Ananya Panday… raising awareness about this subject.”
Ananya has spoken about her bullying experiences as a school student on several occasions. Speaking Times of India this year, she had said, “In my school, we wore uniforms and couldn’t apply nail polish or kajal. I had so many problems like body issues, stress and exams. I am really skinny even though I eat like a beast. Everyone wants to have a curvy body and look a certain way, but I think now I am comfortable in my skin.”
She had added, “In school, I would always be uncomfortable because my skirt would expose my thin, chicken legs and wiry hands. I would get called a hunchback as I am tall and would always bend down to hear people. This is the reason trolls don’t affect me, as I have been bullied in school.”
With Mira Rajput and Gauri Khan throwing her weight behind Ananya’s initiative, the campaign launched by the young actress is bound to get the much-needed boost in days to come.
