Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan recently trended for calling Kangana Ranaut the ‘number one’ actress while hosting his popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati. Bachchan on Monday informed that the show had entered its final week and will go off-air after Friday this week. While announcing that the curtain was about to fall on the Sony TV show, Bachchan sounded emotional.
To mark the end of the show, he welcomed ten contestants, who had been playing the game using the SonyLiv mobile application. The first contestant was from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. An employee of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, the contestant made an impressive start but ran out of steam and could not reach the second stage of the game i.e. Rs 3.20 lakh prize money.
While welcoming a second contestant of the evening, a woman, Bachchan played a song and asked her to identify the film. The options were Queen, Manikarnika, Kalank and Chhichhore. The correct answer was Manikarnika starring Kangana Ranaut. Instead of revealing if the contestant had answered the question correctly, Bachchan turned to his special guest, Censor Board Chief Prasoon Joshi, to seek his opinion.
Incidentally, the lyrics of the song were penned by Joshi. Bachchan later revealed that the title of the song was Bharat and it was sung by Shankar Mahadevan. Shankar-Ehsan-Loy had composed the music with Kangana playing the lead character of the Queen of Jhansi.
Praising the film, Bachchan said, “this film was made on a large scale.” He also asked the contestant if she had watched the film.
Last week, Bachchan had declared Kangana the number one actress after he played one of her audios and asked a contestant to recognise her voice.
This season’s KBC saw four contestants win Rs 1 crore each with three of them hailing from Bihar.
