As the World Cup nears, the cricket fever has started to grip even the big names in Bollywood. The latest in the series is Katrina Kaif, who has asked Anushka Sharma for a favour from her husband Virat Kohli on her inclusion in the team. Kohli is the current captain of the Indian cricket team.

Katrina, who’s recently wrapped up the shooting for her next blockbuster Bharat, also starring Salman Khan, took to Instagram to share a video of her batting on the sets of her film. In the video, Katrina is seen showing fine skills of batting as she sends balls outside the ‘boundary’ on multiple occasions. As she bats, the rap from Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film Gully Boy is being played in the background.

Katrina tagged Anushka and wondered if she could ask her husband for a favour in the team selection for the upcoming World Cup. Katrina jokingly admitted that she realised her areas of improvement in the game, but she was not a bad all-rounder and could be an asset to the India team. She wrote, “Pack up ke baad #bharat sets as the World Cup nears @anushkasharma perhaps u could put in a small word for me with the captain of the team 🙋🏻‍♀️some room for improvement in my swing, but over all not a bad all rounder.”

Although, Anushka has yet to react to Katrina’s plea, Preity Zinta responded with an offer to play for her IPL team Kings XI Punjab. Preity wrote, “Wow babe, we should hire you.” To which, Katrina replied, “Do it please. Come on, please let me play.”

Fans too are loving the cute exchange of words between their favourite stars. One fan commented, “Someone please put her in indian cricket team and replace her with KL Rahul.” Another wrote, “girl look at that swing! and you’re caption game is the best…love you so much keep rocking!”

England and Wales will host this year’s World Cup for 50-over format. India have won this competition twice, first in 1883 and the last being in 2011, when Virat Kohli was a part of the team.
