Director Vinod Tiwari has caused quite a stir in the entertainment industry by proposing to make a biopic on actor-comedian Kapil Sharma, who’s been going through a rough time for the last few months.
Tiwari, who’s currently shooting Teri Bhabhi Hai Pagle with comedian Krushna Abhishek, said that the idea struck him after he watched Sanju, a film based on Sanjay Dutt’s life.
Tiwari told IANS that after he saw Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Sanju, he felt that a similar film on the life of Kapil will be truly ‘worth it.’ Stating that the story of Kapil’s own journey ought to be out, Tiwari said that he had discussed the idea with the comedian himself way back in 2010, but ‘producers Surendra Puri and Nostrum couldn’t do it then.’
“Now they are also keen on doing a biopic,” Tiwari was quoted by IANS. He said that the lead role should ideally be played by Kapil himself, but he couldn’t, then Krushna Abhishek, the comedian’s rival, was best suited for it.
“If Kapilji agrees to play himself, I would love to work with him or else I feel Krushna Abhishek will be perfect for the role as they are known for their comic timing and he will do justice for Kapilji’s character,: he added.
Just a couple of days ago, a shocking photo of Kapil had emerged leaving fans on social media aghast primarily because the deterioration in his physical appearance told a significant story of how his life had taken a turn for the worse.
Attired in a hoody tracksuit and yellow T-shirt with a cricket cap on his head, Kapil appeared to be standing inside a supermarket in Amsterdam, when his photo was clicked. In the photo, Kapil had clearly gained a lot of weight as evidently suggested by his protruding potbelly.
This had led fans wishing him ‘Get Well Soon’ on social media platforms.
