His announcement sent his friends and well-wishers into a frenzy as they reacted with ecstasy. Producer-filmmaker Ekta Kapoor tweeted, “Super.” Actor Aamir Ali wrote, “Come bak healthier and funnier.. amazing.” Kapil replied, “Thanks for ur best wishes Ali Bhai.” Kapil’s friend and fellow comedian Bharti Singh wrote, “Come back soon.” Poet Rahat Indori, who once appeared on Kapil Sharma Show as a guest dedicated a couplet in Urdu to welcome his return to TV.
Indori wrote, “Salute to the courage of Kapil Sharma. Praying from my heart for the success of your show.” Among others who wishes Kapil on his return were cricketer Rahul Sharma, singer Sukshinder Shinda and Rahul Dev.
Kapil had slipped into depression after several co-stars from Kapil Sharma Show quit the popular TV programme causing a significant dip in TRP following a mid-air brawl involving Sunil Grover. This subsequently led to the axing of the show from Sony TV. He returned with another TV programme, Family Time With Kapil Sharma, but it failed to impress his audience.
Two back-to-back failures caused considerable impact on his health, forcing him to slip into oblivion. Few weeks ago, he reportedly began to focus on his health seriously by deciding to abstain from alcohol and undergo an intense Ayurveda therapy.
Last month, Kapil reached out to Sunil with a heart-warming tweet wishing the latter on his film Pataakha.
