Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor faced incessant trolling on social media recently after a photo of the Dhadak star posing for the camera by holding a book upside down went viral. Janhvi was a guest at a book launch event in Delhi, where Hindi version of Harinder Sikka’s novel Calling Sehmat was scheduled to be launched.
However, soon photos of Janhvi posing for the camera by holding the upside down went viral making her a target of brutal trolling. In the photo, Janhvi was the only guest holding the book upside down while other guests held the book properly.
One user called her ‘dumb’ and ‘uncultured’ as he wrote, “She is such a dumb. She doesn’t even know that she’s holding the book upside down. Absolutely uncultured.” “Holding the book upside down at launch. That’s a beauty with no brains people,” wrote another user in response to comments praising her beauty. One user wrote, “She’s holding the book upside down.. Does she even know the title of the book?????”
Janhvi also shared the photos from the event but without holding the book. That’s perhaps to ensure that no further embarrassed was heaped on her.
Janhvi was recently in the news after she wrote an emotional post on the second birth anniversary of her mother Sridevi since her death in February last year. Sridevi had died in a hotel in Dubai.
Janhvi made a successful debut in Bollywood with Dhadak last year. The film, which also featured Shahid Kapoor’s half-brother Ishan Khattar, went on to collect more than Rs 100 crore at the box office.
She has signed another film, Takht, by Karan Johar, which will also have Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Anil Kapoor among others.
