After megastar Amitabh Bachchan, now, the musical band ‘Indian ocean’ and lyricist Prasoon Joshi have partnered with Dettol to launch a new music track ‘Banega Swachh India’ to re-energise the hygiene and sanitation movement across the country.
Titled ‘Banega Swachh India’, the video has been shot near various historic monuments like Qutub Minar, Amer Fort, Humayun’s Tomb and Gateway of India.
The title track, which features the band members- Rahul Ram, Amit Kilam, Nikhil Rao, Himanshu Joshi and Tuheen Chakravorty- was released on 30 September.
“The idea of a clean India has been a dream for all of us. The fact that corporates are making this a part of their CSR initiatives, presuming this will be without any red tape, is a great sign,” the band members said in a statement.
The statement also said, “What we need for efforts like this to have an actual impact is public awareness and funding to take the message to masses. As musicians we have contributed our most precious commodity which is a song from our hearts and hope that this will become the war cry for all of us in our fight towards a cleaner and healthier India.”
Award-winning writer Prasoon Joshi, who has penned the lyrics for the campaign’s song, feels that “it’s a song of hope and of a better and cleaner future”.
Arjun Purkayastha, marketing director, Dettol, developing markets, said, “Music is a universal language which unites people across cultures and can serve as an agent of change. And we are extremely delighted to join hands with iconic artists in the country for making music as the medium to reunite people towards a Swachh Bharat.”
Other prominent bands and artists who have joined the initiative are Palash Sen of Euphoria, Subir and Nitin Malik from Parikrama, Karthik, Kutle Khan, Koco and Mohan of Agnee and Shilpa Rao.
