IAS topper Tina Dabi Khan has had to face considerable backlash for her decision to marry a Muslim, fellow IAS topper from Kashmir. Unfazed by criticism from religious fanatics, both Tina and Athar Aamir Khan have gone on to become two of the most popular civil servants on social media. Both have been careful in not flaunting their religious symbolism and restricted their social media activities to their work as civil servants or to share their private fun moments. However, on Thursday, Tina Dabi Khan took to Instagram to flaunt her sindoor for the first time since getting married to Athar last year.
While sharing a video from inside her office, Tina’s caption read, “Office on Karwa Chauth.” In the video, Tina was seen quickly signing the documents to clear the backlog before she called it a day.
She also uploaded the same video as part of her Insta story, but also added another video of her Karwa Chauth celebration.
Dressed in a printed emerald green band gala kurta with a contrast beige palazzo, Tina was seen twirling in her lawn while flaunting her a traditional married woman look.
The IAS topper from Delhi has wisely disabled the comments section to her latest Karwa Chauth photo fearing online trolling by religious fanatics. Not so long ago, Trinamool Congress MP and Bengali actress, Nusrat Jahan, had to face incessant trolling for her decision to sport the sindoor after marrying a Hindu businessman.
Karwa Chauth is a popular Hindu festival when wives observe a day-long fast praying for a long life for their husbands.
Last month, Tina had informed her fans how she had been working hard to create her ‘own paradise’ in her lawn. Sharing a video of the lawn of her residence, she had written, “Have been putting some effort in creating my own paradise in the midst of a busy city.”
Tina Dabi Khan had topped the IAS exams in 2016 with Athar Aamir Khan securing the second position the same year. Both fell in love with each other during the training and tied the knot in 2018.
