Sourav Ganguly calls unnamed cricketer ‘attention seeker,’ netizens think he’s criticising Sanjay Manjrekar

A Twitter of sorts appears to have erupted between two of former Indian batting greats namely Sanjay Manjrekar and Sourav Ganguly. This was after Manjrekar implied that Ganguly did not allow fellow commentators to speak.

Sanjay ManjrekarTaking to Twitter, Manjrekar wrote sarcastically, “Always happy when Sourav Ganguly is in commentary. You get to relax not just in between commentary stints but during it too.”

Pat came Ganguly’s reply, accusing Manjrekar of being an attention seeker. He wrote, “His comments on Twitter is a bit like his batting meaningless and and lack of ideas .. may be just an attention seeker…in the negative way.”

While Manjrekar had posted his tweet right after the Indian innings against Australia, Ganguly chose to respond to his tweet after India registered an emphatic win over Australia by 36 runs. Although, Ganguly did not name Manjrekar in his response, netizens were quick to link his comments to the tweet posted by Manjrekar earlier.

However, some users on Twitter felt that Ganguly was referring to former England batsman Michael Vaughan, who had predicted an easy win for Australia today.

Both Manjrekar and Ganguly are on commentating on the cricket World Cup matches, currently being held in England and Wales.
