Comedian-actor Kapil Sharma can’t wait to return to TV after months of ignominy and reported depression that appeared to take toll on the health of once-popular TV show host. As reported by Janta Ka Reporter earlier, Kapil has decided to relaunch his old show The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony TV, where the older version of the same programme ruled the roost until last year.
One of the reasons why Sony TV had pulled the plug on The Kapil Sharma Show was its failing TRPs after the comedian began to repeatedly let down his scheduled guests by not turning up for the shoot. Although, he returned with a new format, called Family Time With Kapil Sharma, the show failed to impress the audience., forcing the channel part ways with Kapil for good.
As Kapil Sharma prepares to relaunch his old show, Sony TV has reportedly decided to ensure that there is no repetition of the old shenanigans. One significant step the channel has forced Kapil to take is to make it clear to him that the new show will not be produced by his K9 Productions. Although, Family Time With Kapil Sharma too was produced by an independent company, the channel this time wanted Kapil to seek collaboration with more reliable and professional production house. This sent the popular comedian in the direction of Bollywood star, Salman Khan, whose home productions will reportedly produce the new version of The Kapil Sharma Show.
A report by Mid-day said that the shooting for the new show commence from 16 Decmber. A new set is being designed in Film City’s 8th floor, which is where he shot his earlier shows. His new show is also likely to have Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh. Earlier, the show was to start from Diwali, but Kapil’s wedding plans cause the postponement of his return to TV.
The relaunch of Kapil’s show will follow his planned wedding with girlfriend Ginni Chatrath. A news report by IANS said that Kapil wanted to keep his wedding a low key affair but Ginni’s folks wanted this to be a lavish affair since she was the only daughter in the family.
“And I completely understand their sentiments. My mother also wants the wedding to be lavish,” Kapil was quoted as saying. The reception of his wedding will take place two days later on 14 December.
