Taking to Twitter, Irani sought forgiveness for being a gloating Mom today as she wrote, “Ok saying it out loud— proud of my son Zohr..not only did he come back with a bronze medal from the World Kempo Championship also scored well in 12 th boards. Best of 4– 91% .. special yahoo for 94% in economics.. Maaf karna ,today I’m just a gloating Mom.”

Irani was reminded by one of her followers that her son’s success was a saving grace for boys since most of this year’s toppers were girls. Irani replied jovially, “Beti ko do bronze medal mile same championship mein. Kyu har jagah jung karvate ho (My daughter got two bronze medals in the same championship. Why do you have to cause a war everywhere?)”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi too congratulated students, who had passed this year’s CBSE exams. He wrote, “Congratulations to all my young friends who have successfully passed the CBSE Class XII examinations. My best wishes to them for their endeavours. Kudos also to their parents and teachers for the valuable support.”

Smriti Irani is currently sweating it out in Amethi while challenging the sitting MP and Congress President Rahul Gandhi in this year’s Lok Sabha polls. The result will be announced on 23 May, when she has promised to throw a party in celebration of her son’s success.
