Frenzy ahead of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo release, ‘Recreating Salman-Aishwarya scene was accidental’


The much awaited Salman Khan starrer Prem Ratan Dhan Payo releases on Thursday and going by the advance bookings for this Diwali release, it seems the movie is set to create a new box office record.

In this film, Salman will be seen playing Sonam Kapoor’s lover. The movie has already created plenty of buzz on social media platforms. Among those who have wished Salman and team for box office success include the actor’s friend Aamir Khan and his friend-turned-foe-turned-friend Shah Rukh Khan.

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo marks the reunion of director Sooraj Barjatya and Salman Khan after 16 years. Their previous box office hits were Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Hum Saath Saath Hain.

The film’s trailer and melodious have already struck a chord with the audience.

A theatre artist in the film, Salman Khan will be playing the role of Prem, for 16th time in his career. His character entails performing the Ramayan, while Sonam will play the role of a princess.

Talking about the script, Sooraj Barjatya, told India Today channel, “By far, this script is the most evolved one. I have made it with a lot of passion. The film is about family morals. When I went to Salman Bhai with the script, he just connected with it. Salman just said, “Let’s do this, Sooraj Babu, and take it 27 years back.” Salman has been on a high in terms of his success with the roles he has been playing in Dabangg and Kick, but I wanted to get him back to the image he had earlier.”

Barjatya clarified that Salman pulling Sonam’s braid was purely accidental and not a deliberate move to recreate the scene from Ham Dil Chuke Sanam.

The makers of this movie have already recovered most of the film’s cost. Salman reportedly did not charge for doing this movie with the total cost of the movie being estimated at Rs 60 crore! The team has reportedly earned Rs 57 crore through music and satellite rights.
