Disha Patani has reportedly become the first casualty of Sara Ali Khan’s phenomenal rise in Bollywood after the star daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh delivered two back-to-back blockbusters in Bollywood last year.
Sports apparel brand Puma has now said to have replaced the Baaghi 2 actress with the Simmba girl. A report by Mid-Day said that Puma and Disha mutually agreed that her contract with the brand will not be extended. Quoting a source, the website reported that Disha then decided to associat herself with Calvin Klein and Puma went hunting for a new face.
“Sara turned out to be a perfect fit because of her incredible fitness story – on Koffee With Karan, she had revealed her battle with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and how she became fit with the right diet and regular workout. The brand’s marketing team is currently designing a campaign around this,” the source told Mid-Day website.
Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli is currently endorsing the Puma brand. There are reports that if the ‘first campaign does well, the brand officials are also keen to team her up’ with Kohli for another commercial.
Sara’s first film Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput was a hit. Days later, her second film Simmba with Ranveer Singh was released in December last year. The film went on to smash several box office records with over Rs 350 crore earnings worldwide.
Interestingly, Sara Ali Khan had faced incessant trolling because of her latest photo shoot when many of her fans had compared her with Disha Patani. This was after she shared quite a lot of bold photos with her fans on Instagram.
Disha Patani has been relentlessly endorsing Calvin Klein’s fashion products. Some of her posts while promoting the innerwear range of Calvin Klein had become hugely controversial last year. This was after she chose to greet Hindu devotees on the occasion of Diwali by wearing a Calvin Klein bra. She had followed it up with another controversial social media post by greeting Christians in a bikini on the occasion of Christmas.
