Actor Anushka Sharma has denied reports that her production house, Clean Slate Films, had filed a case against Prerna Arora’s KriArj Entertainment over non-payment of the last installment for horror film Pari.
A report in Filmfare (now taken down from the website) had said that Anushka slapped a case after she did not receive her remaining payment for Pari, which was jointly produced by Clean Slate and KriArj.
But Anuska’s spokesperson has been quoted by India Today as saying, “There is no truth to it at all.”
Prerna, whose production house also produced Rustom, PadMan and Toilet Ek Prem Katha, had a case filed against her by her masseuse, who alleged the producer had not paid her despite using her services for five months.
A report by Mumbai Mirror had said that Khairun Mukhtar Ahmed, a resident of Santacruz, alleged that Prerna had hired her for Rs 75,000 a month contract but not paid her any money for the last five months.
“She used to call me for massages in the night. I was desperate for money, first to pay for my husband’s cancer treatment and after his death, to pay off the loans,” Ahmed said in her complaint. She said that Prerna had promised Rs 75,000 a month for massages between midnight and 8 am but hadn’t been paid since the last 5 months. “I paid on my own to travel in autorickshaws from Santacruz to Madam’s house in Jogeshwari,” she said.
Earlier, Prerna was in news for legal battles with Kedarnath director Abhishek Kapoor and John Abraham for Parmanu earlier this year.
