The alleged suicide by the daughter of a Telugu film actress, Annapurna, has stunned people in Hyderabad. 35-year-old Keerthi’s body was found hanging from the ceiling on Saturday morning.
Keerthi was married to one Venkatakrishna around four years ago. According to report, her husband was travelling from Bengaluru to Hyderabad on Friday night. After he arrived home in Hyderabad, he decided to sleep in a separate room, while Keerthi slept in the bedroom.
“Keerthi who is around 35 years old has committed suicide by hanging herself to death at her residence,” KS Rao, Assistant Commissioner of Police in Banjara Hills was quoted by enws agency ANI.
Keerthi was reportedly suffering from depression for few months. Her close family friends suspected that the reason fro her depression may have been her little daughter, who cannot speak. According to one local TV channel, Keerthi’s daughter’s disability may have been the reson for her to slip into depression.
Venkatakrishna, a software engineer, has been living separately in Bengaluru for unstated reasons. After he discovered his wife’s body hanging from the ceiling, he immediately alerted Annapurna to inform her about this incident. Annapurna, who lives in Godavari block nearby, informed the local police about her daughter’s suicide.
Annapurna is a popular Telugu actress. She started her debut as an actress in 1975 with Mohan Babu in Swargam Narakam. Lately, she has been featuring in plenty of films while playing the characters of mother, mother-in-law and grand mother.
Cops have taken the body from Banjara Hills house to Osmania Hospital for post-mortem. They’ve also seized her mobile phone and booked a case of suspicious death under section 174 of The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Police to enquire and report on suicide, etc.)
According to Telangana Today newspaper, she has been receiving treatment for psychological disorder for two years, but her mental condition deteriorated after learning that her little child could not speak.
