Popular Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff was recently in the news for the wrong reasons after Cobrapost’s Operation Karaoke caught him agreeing to push a political party’s agenda using his social media accounts. Although, he has not commented on the sting operation yet, he has finally opened up about his son’s rumoured romance with actress Disha Patani, who he referred to as a disciplined and passionate 25-year-old girl.
Without naming Disha, Jackie told Mumbai Mirror, “Tiger found his first friend who is a girl at 25, till then he never looked around.” He added, “They share the same passions, dance and workout together.” Showering praises on Disha for being a disciplined girl because of her army background, the Baaghi 2 actor’s future father-in-law said, “She comes from a family of army officers, so she understands the value of discipline. Who knows they may get married in future or remain friends for life, for now they are just friends.”
Disha and Tiger had set the internet on fire on this year’s Valentine’s Day when they both posed by kissing what appeared to be engagement rings. While posting the photo, Tiger had said, “Turns out I’m taken.”
Disha too had posted a similar photo, kissing her ring. She had even confessed to being proposed by Tiger even though she did not name her rumoured boyfriend. She wrote, “Someone popped the question, and I said yes…”
Like Tiger, Disha too is passionate about her fitness and martial art. When she is not setting the internet in designer undergarments, Disha usually tends to post videos of her fitness training. Even though she may not have many films under her belt, she’s become one of the most followed Bollywood stars on social media. Her bold choice of clothing have often landed her in controversies but this hasn’t deterred the popular actress from posting more photos in similar outfits.
Disha will be sharing screen space with her would-be father-in-law in Bharat, scheduled to be released during Eid this year. In Bharat, Jackie will be playing the role of Salman Khan’s father. Speaking about his character, the veteran actor said, “I met Salman during his growing up years while filming Falak whose dialogue was penned by his father, Salim Khan saab… Salman’s still a teenager for me, a child, his eyes shining with his love for me and reflecting his awe.”
Jackie turned emotional when talking about his Tiger. He said, “God is kind, what else can you expect from your child! Tiger is setting an example for other kids to follow. He sleeps by 10.30 pm and is up by 6 am… He respects people and focuses on his craft… He steers clear of malice and is a man on a mission. Even for a porcupine his child is soft, so I won’t say more. Children love him and so do mothers, and grandmothers. I hope it always remains that’s way.”
