The Congress social media chief, Divya Spandana, also known as Ramya, on Monday shared a video of former Bigg Boss contestant Rakhi Sawant, who’s seen introducing a man as her ‘husband.’
In the short video, Rakhi is seen saying, “Everyone keeps asking when I would find my groom. Be happy now that I have found my husband. I am in New York, in US and here’s my husband.” She then quickly asks the man, driving the car, to say ‘hi’ on the camera.
Rakhi is then seen informing the man or her ‘husband’ how he had become famous because ‘all Indians’ including ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi’ were watching the video. She says, “Modi ji is a very big fan of me because I am Bollywood actress. See Modi ji, please meet your son-in-law.” sic
The video has been viewed more than 84,000 times on Twitter with nearly 4,000 Twitter users liking the video and more than 1,500 sharing it. Spandana invited plenty of flak from the supporters of Modi, who accused her of misogyny.

In 2016, an FIR was filed against the actor-model for “allegedly indulging in obscenity and defaming the PM” after she posed in a dress that had photos of PM Modi printed all over it including on awkward places on her body. Later, explaining her decision, she had said that she received approvals for the controversial dress from close aides of Modi and assistant of the BJP President, Amit Shah.
Recently, she was in the news for demanding Rs 5 crore from Salman Khan adding; “What will Salman do with so much money. Will you (Salman) take this money to qabr (grave)?”
