Rebel AAP MLA Kapil Mishra under fire for chilling video on Pulwama terror attack

Rebel AAP MLA Kapil Mishra has issued a chilling warning while calling for violence against veteran actors Naseeruddin Shah and Kamal Hassan, Congress Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu lawyer Prashant Bhushan, journalist Barkha Dutt and activist Shehla Rashid. In a video message, posted on Twitter, Mishra said that time had come to enter their houses and attack them since they were traitors.

He said, “Some Barkha tries to shift the attention away from Pulwama (terror attack), Some Swara (Bhasker) tries to defame the country…Some Naseeruddin (Shah) says that country is reeling under terror. But the very next day, he goes to Karachi wagging his tail.”

He then shifted his attack to Haasan, Bhushan and Rashid as he said, “Some Kamal Haasan talks about holding plebiscite. Some Shehla (Rashid) spreads fake news against India every day….This (Prashant) Bhushan, who gets the court to work in at night and this (Navjot Singh) Sidhu, who lectures for peace even in the battleground. Now is the time to attack them inside their houses. Drag these traitors, who are hiding inside their houses, on to the streets.”

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah had recently spoken about his fear for his children amidst growing religious intolerance in India. Sidhu had faced organised social media attacks by the BJP IT Cell for his comments, made in the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack.

Reacting to Mishra’s chilling threat for violence, Shehla tagged DCP rank officer of the Delhi Police, Madhur Varma and wrote on Twitter, “Dear @IPSMadhurVerma ji, this person who has a huge following and is an MLA from Delhi, is giving an open, emotive call to people to enter our homes, drag us to the streets and lynch us.”

Supporters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who are known for their bigotry and support for violence, have actively targeted anyone, who questioned the intelligence failure on the part of the Centre’s BJP government. But, Mishra’s video is by far the most chilling threat yet against Indians, who do not agree with Modi and his questionable policies.

Speaking to Janta Ka Reporter, Mishra defended the content in his video and said, “People will indeed thrash those who are working against the country and supporting terrorists. I support his. People will do their job but will not take law in their hands. Why are only these people reacting to my video?”

Mishra also said that those named in the video were free to contact police to file a complaint against him. “I have done what I needed to do, they can do what they have to do. But, I am happy to see the fear on their face.”

The Pulwama terror attack had left 45 CRPF jawans dead on 14 February.
