Bharti Singh causes laughter riot on The Kapil Sharma Show hours after her arrest; mocks Indian Idol judge Neha Kakkar’s height; netizens link comedian’s arrest to mocking of Arnab Goswami

Bharti Singh of The Kapil Sharma Show caused a laughter riot by taking potshots at Indian Idol judge Neha Kakkar’s height hours after the Narcotics Control Bureau arrested her and husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa for consumption and possession of drugs. Twitterati were quick to link the arrest of Bharti and her husband to the mocking of Arnab Goswami by Kiku Sharda and Krushna Abhishek. On Saturday night, Bharti also targeted Neha Kakkar when Kapil Sharma said that the Bollywood singer had gone for her honeymoon with her husband Rohanpreet Singh, a former suitor of ex-Bigg Boss contestant Shehnaaz Gill aka Punjab’s Katrina Kaif.

Welcoming Saturday night’s guests, Bharti asked, “You have come from Indian Idol? Where’s that girl? Neha (Kakkar)!” When Vishal Dadlani said that one beauty was enough for The Kapil Sharma Show, Bharti began to take a dig at the singer’s height by pretending to look for Neha inside a banana.

Aditya said, “Her cheeks are being caressed by her husband. She has just got married.” Bharti said, “No wonder I saw a video where the room was decorated with flowers. What was this for?”

Kapil replied, “She is a newly-wed woman. She must have gone for her honeymoon.” Bharti said, “What do I know about the honeymoon. I am a woman with too many children.”

In Saturday’s episode, Bharti caused a laughter riot in the presence of Indian Idol judges Vishal Dadlani and Himesh Reshammiya. Also present was Indian Idol host Aditya Narayan, who had to face the music from Bharti, who accused him of trying to snatch the anchoring jobs away from her and husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa.

She said, “My husband has found a job of hosting a show between 8 PM and 9.30 PM (India’s Best Dancer). This did not go down well with this man (Aditya). He is trying to snatch even that job away.”

When Kapil asked Bharti why she needed to host another show when she was earning enough money from The Kapil Sharma Show, the comedian replied, “My life is fine but I also have to worry about a man called Haarsh, who I have hired as my husband…He will be forced to earn his living by selling Gujarati savoury.” As expected, this left everyone in splits.

This was after Bharti greeted Vishal and Himesh but ignored Aditya, prompting Kapil to ask why she was not addressing the Indian Idol host.

Taking a dig at Kapil, Bharti said, “Now you better get used to watching these people (Indian Idol judges). That Malaika Arora is gone. Yes, she’s gone.” Malaika was one of the judges of India’s Best Dancer, which is now being replaced by Indian Idol. Curiously, Bharti and her husband were the hosts of India’s Best Dancer.

Neha Kakkar and Rohanpreet Singh got married last month before the couple left for Dubai on a honeymoon. Rohanpreet is a former singing reality show contestant, who had also taken part in another TV show as a suitor of ex-Bigg Boss participant, Shehnaaz Gill aka Punjab’s Katrina Kaif.

Social media users have been quick to link Bharti’s arrest to the mocking of Arnab Goswami on the Salman Khan-produced show by Kiku Sharda and Krushna Abhishek recently.
