Salman Khan’s soon to be released Bajrangi Bhaijaan became a talking point on Thursday after the actor announced on twitter that his favourite track from the movie was soon coming out.
Salam then tweeted the link to the track Bhar Do Jholi Meri, a soulful number voiced by Adnan Sami.
As is the fan following for the actor on social media, within minutes the tweet got thousands shares.
Bhar Do Jholi is believed to be Salman’s first ever Dargah song. Shot in Kashmir’s Ashmuqam Dargah in Pahalgam it is also the first ever time that the dargah has given permission to shoot in its premises.
Bjarangi Bhaijaan is scheduled to be released this Eid in July. Directed by Kabir Khan, who made Ek Tha Tiger with Salam and Katrina Kaif, Bajrangi Bhaijaan will have Salman playing the character of a Hindu praying in a dargah.
Critics say that given the current environment of communal animosity perpetrated by country’s right-wing politicians, this will be a bold move by Kabir Khan, who appears determined to convey the message of humanity and pluralism. Kareena Kapoor Khan, who was last seen acting opposite Salman in the blockbuster Bodyguard, will be playing the lead role opposite Sallu bhai in Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
The track Bhar Do Jholi Meri is very similar to the original qawwali sung by Pakistan’s Sabri brothers. albeit with more upbeat background score. Only time will tell if this will gain similar acceptance among the qawwali lovers.
