He’s often branded as a bad guy of Bollywood and when the Indian Olympics Association chose Being Human Salman Khan to be the brand ambassador of the Indian Olympics contingent in Rio, many slammed the decision.
While Indian fans have been left utterly dejected by the appallingly poor performance by most athletes, Salman has done something that will enhance your respect for the actor.
The actor, known for his big-heart, on Wednesday announced on Facebook that he had decided to present a cheque of Rs 1,01,000 each to every Indian athlete, who took part in Rio Olympics.
He wrote, “As a gesture of appreciation for our Olympic athletes, I will present each one with a cheque of Rs1,01,000. The government is very supportive of sports . Each of us can also do our bit to encourage a sports nation . I admire the work that Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ) is doing to shape tmrw’s champions . And also companies like Edelweiss, Jio and others who have come forward to support the Olympics.
Given the prevalent state of affairs plaguing Indian Olympics sports and its athletes, Salman’s gesture to provide monetary reward will earn him plenty of plaudits even from his critics.
