Janhvi Kapoor on Thursday shared photos of her half-brother Arjun Kapoor spending quality time with their Dad Boney Kapoor. While posting the first photo, Janhvi wrote, “Favourites.”
The caption of her second photo read, “Bonding.” In one photo, both Arjun and his father are seen smiling while posing for the camera, while the second photo has both of them busy checking their mobile phones.
Arjun, who has just returned from abroad, had on Thursday announced that he was still jet-lagged. Arjun bonding with Boney Kapoor assumes significance in light of his recent interview implying that all wasn’t well with him and his father because of the latter’s decision to marry Sridevi.
Arjun had told a newspaper, “It’s difficult for me to give a one-off reply, or in a ‘by the way’ manner. I actually need a lot of time to process what has happened.” The Ki & Ka actor had also said that his decision to protect Janhvi and Khushi post Sridevi’s death was because he ‘felt impulsively at that point’ adding that ‘between me and my sister(Anshula), we felt that it was the right thing to do.’
While Arjun and his sister Anshula were born to Mona Kapoor, Boney Kapoor’s first wife, Janhvi and Khushi were born to Sridevi, the filmmaker’s second wife. His inner pain had come out when Arjun said that ‘I still don’t have answers to a lot of things.’ “Too much has happened and I wouldn’t wish these things even on my worst enemies. I’ve experienced it first-hand, so if I encompass everything in one answer, it would make the matter very small,” he told Hindustan Times.
However, post Sridevi’s death, both families appear to have come together as Arjun and Anshula provided the much-needed emotional support to their half-sisters, Janhvi and Khushi. Arjun has been actively using his social media pages to promote Janhvi’s debut film, Dhadak, releasing today.
While wishing his half-sister, Janhvi, on her debut film, Arjun tweeted on Friday, “It’s out today #Dhadak !!! @ShashankKhaitan has made a heart warming & yet gut wrenching love story….he’s handled the 2 Of them so deftly. Ishan u have nailed the simplicity & energy of a young kid who just sees purity in love Janhvi u left me speechless so bloody proud of u…”
