Anushka Sharma breaks silence on trolling for posing with Team India in London

Actor Anushka Sharma has hit the road to promote her next film Sui Dhaaga, which also stars Varun Dhawan. She was recently seen interacting with media while launching the trailer of Sui Dhaaga, where she asked questions about a recent controversy related to her and the Indian cricket team.

The question on her recent trolling was about she appearing in the official photo of the Indian cricket team. Social media users had gone berserk after seeing Anushka pose with the Indian cricket team at the Indian High Commission in London. Many had asked the BCCI if Anushka had officially joined the team, while others wondered when the actress was planning to open the innings for the team.

Unaffected by incessant trolling, the BCCI had defended Anushka’s presence in the photo in her capacity as the wife of the national team’s captain, Virat Kohli.

While responding to a question on the recent trolling, Anushka said, “Whoever had to make a justification on the activity has made it. I feel this was just a trolling activity and I don’t react to trolls. Whatever happened has happened within the guidelines and will always happen in the guidelines and I won’t say anything more on this. Let’s not make a huge hue and cry of a topic with such little substance.”

She received plenty of support from her Sui Dhaaga costar Varun Dhawan, who said, “I play a dog in the film, so remember that I can bite also.”

Talking about her film, Anushka had recently written, “A story stitched with threads of India. A story Made in India.” The film will release on 28 September next month.
