Anurag Kashyap calls chowkidars most abusive on Twitter, says Modi has turned India into mud

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap on Monday alleged that most abuses hurled on Twitter were from those who’ve now added chowkidar prefix to their names by following Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He then shared a tweet that accused Modi of turning India into a turbulent nation.

He wrote, “Koi bhi gaali Aaj search kar ke dekh lo twitter pe, dene waale jyadatar Chowkidar hi niklenge..(Whichever abuse you search on Twitter today, Chowkidars will be the one who will be seen using them the most.)”

Earlier, while responding to a right-wing troll, Kashyap said that Modi had turned India into a mud as he wrote, “When your master (Narendra Modi) had no shame in turning the country into a mud, then why should I feel ashamed in holding the mirror to you?”

In response, a user wrote a couple and attributed it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The couplet read, “With great difficulties, we have brought the boat (country) amidst a storm. Dear bhakts, please ensure that this country remains in turbulence.” As expected, Kashyap was quick to share the tweet accusing Modi of wanting India to constantly remain in turbulence.

Kashyap, an acclaimed filmmaker, was recently in news when he joined over 700 film personalities, who released a joint petition asking citizens to vote the hate out from India. The joint petition by artists in 12 languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Assamese, Telugu, Punjabi, Konkani, Urdu and Gujarati, had urged voters to remember how the BJP had given a free rein to Hindutva goons since it came to power at the Centre five years ago.
