Kaun Banega Crorepati on Tuesday was not meant for the faint-hearted as host Amitabh Bachchan resumed the episode with his rollover contestant Himanshu Dhuria, who had won Rs 50 lakh on Monday night. Bachchan began the show by asking him the show’s 16th question for Rs 1 crore. Dhuria decided to quit the show despite knowing the correct answer. Had he stuck to his answer, he would have been the youngest ever KBC contestant to win Rs 1 crore.
Dhuria was asked, “Whose Persian translation of several Upanishads is known as the ‘Sirr-e-Akbar’.” His choices were Abul Fazal, Shah Waliullah Dehlvi, Dar Shikoh and Ahmad al-Sirhindi. Dhuria said that he was inclined to go for Dara Shikoh, which was the correct answer, before changing his mind in favour of quitting the show.
As expected, the contestant from Raebareli was heartbroken upon learning that he had just missed out on a chance to win Rs 1 crore. Bachchan too was in a state of disbelief since Dhuria had played a remarkable game. The contestant had lost one of his lifelines while answering the very first question of the show. Bachchan acknowledged that reaching the question for Rs 1 crore from there was no mean feat.

Bachchan also informed that Dhuria may have been the fastest contestant to answer the fastest finger first question on Monday when he took less than three seconds to occupy the hot seat.
Like Monday, Bachchan continued to probe about his contestant’s love life but he failed to persuade Dhuria to reveal his girlfriend’s name. On Monday, Dhuria had revealed that he was in a relationship with a girl but his parents were not aware of his love interest. The only person, according to him, to know about his girlfriend was his grandmother, who had accompanied him to to the show.
Later this week, the winner of this season’s first crorepati will be declared.
