Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan was on Thursday spotted at the music launch of a Marathi film Dholki in Mumbai.
The first look, trailer and music album of the movie was launched by the veteran actor. Bachchan was welcomed with tilak and sweets by the Dholki team as he entered the venue. The director of the film, master Bittu had worked with Bachchan in several films as a child artist.
Congratulating the film-makers of Dholki, Bachchan said, “My best wishes to the team. Whatever I saw in the film, it is wonderful. I feel Marathi cinema is growing as films with good stories are being made today.”
Dholki is the story of Lalya, a village man who is lazy, good for nothing but a fun-loving person. His life takes a dramatic turn when one day, he discovers a long-forgotten Dholki. Lalya experiences the magical power of the Dholki and Rakma, the village Sarpanch’s beautiful daughter finds herself attracted to Lalya. Over the course of time, Lalya learns a mysterious past and it’s upon him to avenge the bad guys. The film has a thoroughly theatrical climax.
The film stars Siddharth Jadhav, Kashmira Kulkarni, Manasi Naik, Jyoti Chandekar and Sayaji Shinde in the lead roles.
Produced by Shirish Pattan Shetty, Madan Porwal and directed by Raju Desai and Vishal Desai, the movie is expected to hit the screens during Diwali.
